EVERYBODY'S DOING FB LIVES EXCEPT YOU

A few months ago I decided to do my first live stream in my Expat Mom Boss group. Visibility is vital in a portable and online business, and live broadcasting is one of the best and easiest ways to be seen by your audience.

I’m a doer, so once I decided that it’s time to join this new trend, I just did some research on the technical aspects, prepared my topic, wrote a draft, and pushed the Go Live button.

It was scary but also very exciting. So far, I’ve streamed in my FB group, in other groups, on my business page, and on my public profile. And so many expat mom bosses and other people sent me their hearts, likes, and encouraging comments that I felt really blessed and proud of myself.

It’s been only a few months, so I’m still learning new things about live streaming. But since I’m a few steps ahead of many other FB users who haven’t made that leap, here are some tips I’d like to share with you:

• Practice a few times on video before going live. • On your phone, go to FB, tap on “What’s on your mind” and hit Live video below. Choose your public. If you want to practice, start with “Only me”. • If you go live from your phone, make sure you put it in Do Not Disturb mode. • For content, live stream on your FB posts or your blogs, or the questions you get from your ideal clients. • Write out bullet points and keep them handy to ensure you don’t lose your train of thought. • Choose a good, enticing title with some emoticons to draw attention to your video. • Make sure to have a smooth introduction and ending so that the Live is compact and concise. • Experiment with lighting to for the most flattering look. • Choose where you want to stream from: - Your public profile - Your page - In a group • Introduce yourself and the topic of the live at the beginning. • Make sure to say hello to your live viewers, ask them for likes and questions. Use their names if available. • At the end, thank your viewers for watching. • Finally, hit Finish and wait a bit, until you get the Post or Delete buttons at the end. Then Post so that everybody can see it.
